Hi adventurers! this a nice illustration of a very nice show: Adventure Time.

 

It features Jake the dog and Finn the human running away from Hunson Abadeer (Marceline's dad), the evil lord of the terryfying Nightosphere. 

 

It was very fun to do, so I hope you like it!

This is the original line art. Finn and Jake were simple enough to draw, in fact, the less perfect they turn out, the more they will resemble themselves. The monster was really fun to do, simply because it fits my style waaaay more.

 

I must admit, I took some creative liberties for his design. You might think from this drawing that he is some kind of octopus, but that is actually just his head. Maybe he lost it in some kind of epic battle with Finn and Jake? could be! one thing I love about this show is that stuff like that really can happen.

 

 

 

 

 

I added some color. Adventure Time features bright and happy colors, and so this illustration. The monster is a little darker in nature, but not that much. 

 

 

 

Then I drew some light shadows, not that much, though. I wanted to keep it simple to emulate that clean look from the original show. The shadows are just there to add a little volume.

 

 

 

Then the background. I drew something really simple, I was just messing around with some colors and shapes. I added a little pinkish blot on the ground just so I could use some of the purple bright colors that the monster has in his original design.

 

 

 

And finally, some special effects, like smoke and the like. Just to give it a final touch. I also added some purplish lights to the tentacle thingies, maybe to make them a little more neon-flavored.
